About Us

In 1997-98, Phoenix Academy was co-founded by both Kim and Paul Norcross in a one room schoolhouse at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in High Point, North Carolina. The couple applied for a charter school in 1999 and opened the doors to trailers in 2000-2001.  Founding teacher, Board member, Principal and now Superintendent Kim Norcross has seen a lot of change over the last 25 years.

Phoenix Academy was built on a mission to provide families a safe caring environment where children get quality education without paying tuition. Phoenix has grown because of the community    stakeholders. Stakeholders have worked tirelessly vesting time, talent. and treasures over the years and now Phoenix is a main stay in the Piedmont Triad community.

Phoenix offers three locations, small class sizes, a uniform dress code, and outstanding teachers who just love the passion of teaching. Over the past 25 years, Phoenix has expanded from a small one room schoolhouse to three campuses on 60 acres, offering quality education to thousands of students accommodating all learning styles.
